Intel on Thursday announced a collaboration with SMS Audio which has resulted in their first product, the fitness-based BioSport In-Ear Headphones. Designed to track the wearer’s heart rate during physical activity, the headphones signal Intel’s intent to get deeper into smart wearable devices. Features include a tangle-free cord, in-line microphone, multiple ear gels and hook sizes, and a neoprene carrying case. Out of the box, the headphones will sync and pair with RunKeeper; other app compatibility is expected in time.
The BioSport In-Ear Headphones will be available through SMSAudio.com in the fourth quarter of the 2014. Pricing will be revealed closer to launch.
