Don’t look for Sony to integrate Android Wear into its upcoming SmartWatch 3, says Digi-Wo. Expected as soon as IFA in early September, the next-generation Sony smartwatch is reported to instead run its own brand of software.
As for other changes we might look for a square form factor with an improved resolution and a transreflective screen for outdoor visibility. Additionally, the SmartWatch 3 is slated to have built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, wireless charging, and waterproof and dust proof capabilities.
Perhaps Sony is working on something else entirely different for its Android Wear endeavors? Maybe they’ll skip the party entirely.
