It seems like LG is preparing its own circular smartwatch in order to compete with Motorola’s Moto 360. As you know, LG already released their Android Wear LG G Watch at Google I/O this year, so this comes as a bit of a surprise. Engagdet shared an unlisted video from LG Mobile Global YouTube channel teasing a circular smartwatch offering by LG dubbed LG G Watch R.
We have no idea what the “R” stands for, but lets assume it means “Round”. Anyhow, if you look at this short teaser, you won’t find out much. There are no specifications or anything of the sort, though the clip does its job perfectly, it’s a very well made teaser. If you look close enough you’ll notice a digital step counter, distance meter and a compass shown in the video. At the end of this clip LG shared the release date of this thing, we’ll see it launched next week at this year’s IFA in Berlin. Moto 360 is about to get some serious competition considering this thing will launch right after Motorola’s smartwatch offering.
